For the month of November, the Grand Foundation is thrilled to feature Public Allies Indianapolis, a program of Indianapolis Neighborhood Resource Center (INRC). Their work is made possible through funding from Serve Indiana and AmeriCorps.
Public Allies is a social justice organization committed to changing the face and practice of leadership by recruiting and training talented young leaders, with a passion for social impact, to create meaningful change in our community. In partnership with nonprofit partners, Public Allies delivers its nationally recognized, values-driven, results-led apprenticeship to advance their mission to create a just and equitable society and the diverse leadership to sustain it.
Public Allies supports individuals from marginalized communities to discover, develop and leverage their potential. Students in each Public Allies class are matched to community organizations to do impactful work, facilitating group learning, and providing hands-on community engagement experiences. The future leaders of non profit groups are trained in the Public Allies program and go on to be the helpers, the doers and the change makers in our communities.
